Attention Juniors: Beinecke Scholarship Open Now
Are you a junior considering graduate school in the humanities, arts, social sciences? The Beinecke Scholarship funds highly motivated students planning to pursue a graduate degree in these fields (the scholarship does not fund professional programs such as law, business, education, architecture, or journalism.) Syracuse University nominates one student annually to compete for this prestigious award. The Beinecke Scholarship Program receives around 125 applications annually and awards 20 scholarships of $4,000 upon entering graduate school and an additional $30,000 while attending school.
To be considered for the SU nomination, students must have a 3.7+ GPA; be a junior and not planning to graduate before December, 2017; plan to enter a master’s or doctoral program in the humanities, arts, or social sciences; be a US citizen or a US national; and have a documented history of receiving need-based financial aid. Interested students should communicate with CFSA director Jolynn Parker and begin drafting application materials, before the end of the semester. .
The campus deadline for applying is February 1. Complete drafts of all parts of the application must be submitted by this date; the selected nominee will work with CFSA and with faculty mentors to polish the application for the national deadline on February 17th.
