Applications to Join the Young Research Fellows program are Open Now Until March 31st

Jeremy Shinder, a 2021-2023 YRF participant, is creating a screenplay that highlights the relationship shared between two very different spiritual leaders of the American civil rights movement.

If you are are a first-year student at SU who has a at least a 3.75 GPA and wants to pursue your own independent research or creative project, consider applying to the Young Research Fellows Program! ?This program is run jointly by SU's Center for Fellowship and Scholarship Advising (CFSA) and the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Engagement (SOURCE).

Young Research Fellows, guided by a Faculty Mentor, engage in two years of group mentoring in early research and creative inquiry development and have access to up to $7,000 in funding towards research expenses upon submission of approved budgets. They YRF program expects active participation in group mentoring for two years, followed by engagement with incoming YRF members during the fellow’s final undergraduate years. Fellows can draw on their research funds at any point during their undergraduate career. Faculty Mentors are eligible for a two-time grant of $750 in research funds. The program is open to all students in all disciplines.

Deadline to apply for the 2022-2024 YRF cohort is March 31st, 2022 at 5pm ET.
