CFSA to Host Virtual NSF GRFP Writing Bootcamp Sept 14th-25th
CFSA will be hosting a virtual writing workshop for those applying to the National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP).
The GRFP offers generous financial support (including a 3-year, $34,000 living stipend) to students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents pursuing research-based master’s and Ph.D. programs in STEM and social science fields. Students can apply as graduating seniors or in their first or second years of graduate school. Students can learn more about the GRFP by going to https://www.nsfgrfp.org/ and by listening to the series of podcasts CFSA produced on the topic with the Graduate School’s podcast, Gradcast: https://anchor.fm/syrgradcast
If you are interested in applying, please attend our bootcamp to get support with your two application essays! The bootcamp will run from September 14th - September 25th. Applicants will receive daily emails that include writing exercises designed to help applicants write and revise a draft of each essay that they will submit to CFSA on September 25th. After they submit it to CFSA, an advisor will read their essays and reach out via email to offer one on one support. You can sign up for the bootcamp by following the link here.
Email CFSA's assistant director Melissa Welshans at mlwelsha@syr.edu with any questions. We hope you will join us!
